We just started the first day of a 5 day run today in Archbold, OH. Selah is on tour with Aaron Shust and Shaun Groves. We are on a 5 city 6 day run from Nashville to Scottsbluff, NE May 2nd. In between we are in Osage, IA April 29th, Bismark, ND April 30th, Grand Island, NE May 1st. If you do google maps that’s a 20hr drive back from Scottsbluff to Nashville all day Tuesday. That’s 10 guys (amy is staying with family in NE) on a bus for 20hrs. Video games, movies, food, candles and matches will be mandatory!! PRAY FOR US!
We normally leave out on the bus around midnight the evening before, but didn’t leave until 1:30 because some of Aaron Shust’s band had to drive up through horrible weather in GA. Fortunately, they made it safe. It took several extra hours to get to Archbold today because of flooding.
The past couple days have been tragic. So many have died in the southeast. Our bus driver is from AL and he lost 3 friends in the tornado’s. One was a soldier who had served in Iraq. Survived his tour and was about to retire. He just returned home and he and his family were killed. The local church in that area was leveled too. He served his country so well, made it through Iraq, only to come back to the safety of his own home in AL and be taken. I can’t imagine what the rest of his family is going through.
It seems like more natural disasters are occurring throughout the World. Japan, Australia, the floods in Pakistan, earthquakes and tornadoes. It almost feels like the earth is crying out for Jesus to return. Like we are in the “birth pains” of the return of Christ!
We will be in prayer for these family’s, and as the body of Christ let’s take care of these family’s. This is a time for the church to rise up and show who we are in Christ as we wait for His return.
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Matt 24:7b NIV
