You Deliver Me Promo Tour July 15th – Day 4

Selah at In & Out Burger

Selah at In & Out Burger

We flew in to Sacramento last night. This morning we went to the Staybridge Hotel and sang for the K-LOVE staff. They are having a staff retreat for the next couple days. The first person we met was Eric Allen. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois where he cut his teeth at WONU.

When we got to the dining area all that was there was a keyboard…no mics! I was really nervous when I saw that. Fortunately, Amy and I have really loud voices. We rehearsed Hosanna on piano and after about 20 minutes everyone came in to hear us.

I was uneasy because of the mics, but it’s always interesting to see how God can take your weakness and insecurity and cover over it or turn it into something better. It created a really intimate setting. We sang Hosanna, The Lord’s Prayer, Unredeemed, and I Will Carry You (Audrey’s song). It can be very intimidating when you sing in front of radio people. They hear so many songs and they know you are hoping they will play your songs. They couldn’t have been more gracious and compassionate. When a song moved them they weren’t afraid to show their emotions. Scott Smith and I have known each other for a long time. After we finished Scott asked to pray for us. He prayed for Selah, for me and Angie, and for my sister Nicol and Greg who lost their two month old Luke 6 weeks after we lost Audrey.

Lisa Williams asked us to join her and Eric tomorrow for the morning show.  We are really looking forward to that.  We’ll be on from 7-8 PST, 9-10AM CST. They’ll air our single Hosanna, and we will perform live The Lords Prayer, Unredeemed, and I Will Carry You! We hope you will tune in.

Before we went to the hotel we had to make a stop at the one and only In and Out Burger!!

Just a spiritual note from Joel 2:12- “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.  Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.” NIV

When we do these performances before industry people we can become self-conscious about how we are coming across.  Are we authentic, do they like the music.  We have to just put things in Gods hands and have His Spirit’s power move in us.  We have to open our hearts to His will and humble ourselves to His control and return to Him.
