Setting Your Mind on The Things of God

Jesus says these words to Peter after Peter rebukes Jesus for saying He will be killed.  “You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” (Matthew 16:23 ESV)
What is “setting our mind on the things of God?”

The Church – is it really seeking to bring salvation to the lost? or is it seeking to finance expenses created foolishly and not seeking Godly wisdom and lying, stealing, being more like the world instead of a refuge from the hurt and pain the world inflicts – Time for the Church to seek righteousness and compassion for the lost and hurting and allowing the Power of God to work freely and openly – Not the Power of Man

I think Peter is rebuked for only thinking of himself. When we (The Church) think of only ourselves we become a hindrance to the spreading of the Good News. Peter loves Jesus and he might not or refuses to believe Jesus’ prediction of His own death. Peter needed to be focusing on God’s plan of salvation to the world through Christ and not the loss of Jesus in his own life here on earth.

When we focus our thoughts, mind, heart on things above, Gods will, Gods promises, Gods love, peace joy forgiveness, blessings we refocus our worldview our relationships with others our reality become infinite not finite… set your minds on things above, let this mind be in you, which was also in Jesus…
