When a disaster takes place, that is when the church has the opportunity to be the City on a Hill. To be a beacon of hope to the community.
When we had floods last year in Nashville our church, Crosspoint, came to life, as did many Nashville churches and helped thousands of people.
Alabama has been hit especially hard by the tornadoes that occurred two days ago.
My friend Matt Turner tweeted about Cornerstone Christian School in Columbiana, AL. Here is what they are doing to help the community and this is how you can help them.
They have set up a distribution center. They need bottled water, diapers, formula, Walmart gift cards…
Here is how you can contact them.
You can call 205-669-777 and ask for Jay Adams or you can follow Jay on twitter for an updated list of items needed at @ccscoachadams

Cornerstone Christian School is also accepting tax deductible donations. Write checks to “Cornerstone Christian School”, and indicate “tornado relief” in the memo section. Credit card donations are being collected over the phone by Eric Wilson at Cornerston Christian School by calling 205-669-7777.
Let’s be the City on a Hill.
